My neck is starting to look old and wrinkled and droopy. I hate it.
The workhorse for treating this problem is skin tightening, or the ‘non surgical neck lift.’ This uses radiofrequency technology. The effect is to gradually tighten and restore tone to the skin of the neck. Sometimes there are ‘bands’, or ‘strings’ that begin to appear on the neck, and they travel from the area near the chin down towards the base of the neck. These are known as ‘platysmal bands’, and are effectively treated with small doses of Botox. Often there are age spots and dark areas of pigmentation that begin to develop on the lower neck and upper chest area, as a result of sun damage, and these can be effectively treated with laser.
